Binghamton Ready To See 'What Guys Are Made Of'

Jan 23, 2011 4:42 PM

Binghamton University should learn a lot about itself in the next week.

The Bearcats opened America East Conference with a 3-0 record, but have lost three straight games.

"It's past Xs and Os now," BU senior forward Mahamoud Jabbi said. "It's just gut-check time. Guys just have to-- we got to see what guys are made of. The coaches did a great job the whole season of having game plans. They're always prepared. They have a scouting report that helps us, but at the end of the day we're the ones who have to go there and play. They can't play for us."

Binghamton will face Vermont on Sunday.

Binghamton Records Lowest-Ever Point Total

Jan 21, 2011 5:01 PM

Albany defeated Binghamton 76-37 on Thursday night, making history in the process.

The Bearcats recorded their lowest point total in a game since the program moved to Division I in 2001. Also, the 39-point margin of victory is the largest for Albany since it moved to Division I (12 seasons ago).

"When the basket opens up a big as this room, there's not a lot you can do," BU interim coach Mark Macon said. "If you can't buckle down defensively and get some stops, there's not a lot you can do because guys can just throw the ball up there and it's going to go in."
